DESCRIPTION

It is possible to find us where very few other species can survive thanks to our ability to survive in harsh conditions. Physically, we are rather common; you’ll recognize us for our greenish to dark brown color, marked with spots or blurred stripes on our body.

We breed in the spring. The females lay eggs in the submerged vegetation where the eggs stick and evolve without parental supervision.

We are very common in our range.
