Fall is probably the favorite season of all the Ecomuseum Zoo’s employees! Many of our animals are more active with the arrival of fresher temperatures, not to mention the beauty of the surrounding landscape. If you had the occasion to come and enjoy a day in the West Island during the fall season what would you do? Here are a couple of suggestions for a wonderfully pleasant day!
The morning at the Ecomuseum Zoo
Well, you saw that one coming didn’t you! Mornings are the perfect time to come and visit the animals. Morning’s freshness coincides with the first meal of the day, animals are often more active at this time and the site is calmer. A beautiful nature walk enhanced with fascinating animal encounters.
Lunch in Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue
Do you know Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue’s famous boardwalk? Numerous restaurants offer really interesting menus for the whole family, and the waterfront view is fantastic!

A walk through the Morgan Arboretum
The Morgan Arboretum is a 245 hectare forested reserve, located two minutes away from the Ecomuseum Zoo. It offers many trails to enjoy a walk through the forest. You will cross paths with birds and many small mammals while enjoying the 18 collections of trees and shrubs from across the world. A must-see for hiking lovers!

Pumpkin picking at Quinn's Farm
If a walk in the forest sounds less tempting with the kids, why not go pumpkin picking for Halloween?
We’ll tell you up-front, Quinn Farm has been a faithful sponsor of the Ecomuseum Zoo for a number of years, giving us many pumpkins which we offer to our animals as a Halloween enrichment treat.
That being said, with or without the sponsorship, we would recommend this place without hesitation! Located approximately 15 minutes away from the zoo in Île Perrot, Quinn Farm is a great place to enjoy the outdoors. Vast apple and pumpkin fields, warm and welcoming staff and a cool natural playground for kids ... it’s worth the detour for a great afternoon with the family!
