Summer 2026 – Junior Naturalists Club

What is a typical day like for a junior naturalist?

This summer, the Ecomuseum Zoo invites young nature enthusiasts to observe, explore, identify, and better understand the living world through its brand-new Junior Naturalists Club!

Over the course of a half-day program, participants will develop their naturalist skills by learning to identify species, interpret clues left behind by wildlife, explore different natural habitats, and discover the fascinating connections between living things and their environment.

  • Guided by our zoologists, they will take part in hands-on activities, guided explorations, and countless discoveries that bring them closer to nature and its many secrets.

  • Every new adventure comes with a new badge to earn! How many will the most curious participants collect across the seven themes offered this summer?

The registration fee for the Junior Naturalists Club is $60.00 per activity.

Which theme will you choose to begin your junior naturalist adventure?

1. Plants and Fungi: Treasures of the Forest
Saturday, July 4 & Sunday, August 9

2. Mammals and Their Tracks: The Art of Not Being Seen
Saturday, July 11 & Saturday, August 15

3. Birds and Nests: Winged Creatures and Where to Find Them
Sunday, July 12 & Saturday, August 1

4. Amphibians and Wetlands: Guardians of the Pond
Saturday, July 18 & Sunday, August 16

5. Trees and Small Habitats: Forest Giants and Their Secrets
Sunday, July 19 & Saturday, August 8

6. Discovering Insects: Fascinating Small Worlds
Saturday, July 25 & Sunday, August 23

7. Outdoor Skills: Preparing for Nature Adventures!
Sunday, July 26 & Saturday, August 22

Please note
  • All activities are bilingual.
  • A Junior Naturalists Club ticket also includes admission to the zoo for the registered child on the day of the activity. Children can enjoy a visit by joining their family before the activity (for the afternoon session) or after the activity (for the morning session)! All other visitors will need to purchase a zoo admission ticket or use their membership card to visit.
  • No supervision day care service is provided outside of activity hours.
  • The 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM session is reserved for children aged 9-12, and the 1:30 to 4:30 PM session is for ages 12-16. Both activity sessions on the same day will have the same theme but offer different experiences.
  • A 12-year-old child may register for either one or both sessions on the same day. However, supervision will not be provided between 12:00 PM and 1:30 PM.

Children under 12 enrolled in the Nature Camp will have the opportunity to discover entirely new wonders, distinct from those at the Camp, during the Junior Naturalists Club activities.

A perfect opportunity for young naturalists to continue exploring, observing, and marveling at the science of nature!

Please note that tickets for the activity are neither exchangeable nor refundable.

Reservations are required in advance required.
