Did you know?
I am a little night heron! Of all the herons in Québec, I'm probably the most active at night. I frequent both freshwater and saltwater marshes - as long as I can hunt for food, I'm happy!
Diet
A hunter that keeps its eye on the prize.

Diet
My hunting technique requires great patience! Indeed, I hunt mostly by stakeout, which means that I stay still at the edge of the water and I wait for the right moment to catch my prey with my beak. I eat small fish, amphibians or insects.
Reproduction
A very involved dad.

Reproduction
As a dad, I get very involved during the breeding season! My sweetheart and I build a nest that we reuse from year to year. When it comes time to incubate the eggs we alternate on the nest.
